Drive For Fun: New Route Exploration And iOS Merger!

Your car isn’t an escalator, it’s not supposed to take you from point A to point B. Your car isn’t an inanimate object, where you sit in it and mind your own business as if it were a train. Your car is alive just like you. It breathes, it growls, it spits fire when it’s angry and most of it, it wants to excite you. It’s not a hunk of metal, it’s a beautiful expression of human ingenuity. Driving should be more than making a machine work as intended. Driving should be about connecting your desires of freedom, speed, travel and sensational pleasure to the road. Cars are wonderful things, and if we see them as no more than just practical tools in our life, we become cold and grey. No one wants to not have their senses tickled, no one wants to not feel like they’re in control of where they’re headed. It’s time you made your daily driving experience more fun.

Find a new route

Do you go to work on the same piece of road every single day? You may not even mind being stuck in traffic because you’ve got it in your mind that this is the only way. It’s not and it’s about time you found a new route to work. Finding a new route can be done with your in-built satellite navigation system. You can tap into your location and destination and it will come up with different methods of how to get there. Pick one of the routes that is not the one you use now, even if the route is a little longer. The challenge begins in finding a way to make the trip just as quick. Maybe you can dip into a side road, take a shortcut through an unfamiliar twisty backroad or perhaps take a new highway. Make things fun with a bit of adventure and change of scenery.

Merging two technologies

New cars are merging with our smartphones. The computer system in some of our cars now has the ability to merge with operating systems like iOS. Take for example Mazda, it along with other brands has developed a technology that allows you to plug in your Apple phone and utilize many of the apps you have. Take a look at Mazda Apple carplay and how it works to get a gist of it. All you need to do is plug in the Apple USB cable you get with the phone, which will then make a ‘allow Apple Carplay’ popup to appear on your phone. Accept the request and you’ll see your phone and car merge into one. Now the car computer screen should resemble your Apple phone display with many of your apps now usable via the car’s touchscreen. Play your songs, use your apps, play games and do what you want just as long as you keep safe while driving.

Find a new route and explore how else you could get to work. It’s a challenge to see how well you can drive your car on different roads and manage your MPG. plug in your Apple phone and push ‘play’ on your playlists while you’re doing this.
