When you finally get the keys to your new wheels, it’s an exciting time. Having a car to enjoy zooming around it can be a great thing and you get to feel independent and free.

Sometimes though when you buy your new car there will still be a few things you want to do to make it feel like your own, and today we are taking a deeper look into some fun ways you can spruce up your car this weekend.

1. Headlight tinting

A lot of you might have hear that tinting your headlights in any way is illegal, but actually this is not the case. There are boundaries which you need to stick to when you tint your headlights, but as long as you stay within these boundaries you can make your car into whatever you want it to be. This is a cheap and simple diy you can do at home and all you will need is some film to place over the headlights to filter the colour and make it appear different. It can certainly be a great way to pimp up your car in an afternoon and it will look amazing in the dark.

2. HID4

One of the things you could do as an upgrade which will be more about the efficiency of the car than the look of it is to upgrade the headlights. HID lights have been around for a while now and they are much more efficient than the old standard ones. Take the time to change your bulbs this weekend and it will allow you to have much better quality lights on the car.

3. Engine remap

There are of course lots of DIY upgrades you can do for your car this weekend, however the one we are talking about next is one which should definitely be for the professionals. Have a look into engine remapping and this can be something which increases the overall performance of your car. An engine remap is something which can be great for you if you want a little more oomph on the road and it will be amazing to try. Think about asking a professional to let you know what kind of remap you could get for your vehicle and what sort it horsepower you could expect to gain from this. It will definitely be a good thing for you to try and it will also be fun!

4. Roof wrap

When you are searching for ways to make your car look and feel more luxurious this summer you might consider things such as a Car Protection Film or a car wrap. However car wrapping can be pretty expensive for you to do and this might put you off doing it. However you can still wrap parts of the car and this will make an impact on the way it looks and feels. When it comes to wrapping the car the roof is a popular choice and a white or black roof can make the colour on the rest of the vehicle pop.

5. Wing mirror wrap

If you don’t fancy paying for the roof this weekend, you can go even simpler than that and head for the wing mirrors instead. Wrapping the wing mirrors can be a fun way to spruce up your car and add a fun touch and it will take hardly any time at all. You can either choose a bright colour to offset your current car colour or you can try a simple black or white tone for a sleek and minimal look.

6. Tint the windows

One of the most popular ways that you can customise your car this year and make it feel more expensive is to tint the windows and give yourself some privacy in the car. A car window tint is more than just making you feel like a celebrity; it’s also a handy way to hide the inside of your car from any would-be robbers who may try to steal from you. You can tint your windows with any time and it can be fun to choose a type of black you want on your windows this summer. You could choose classic black, dark blue, grey or even a red toned black for a stunning feature.

7. Interior lights

When we think about pimping up the car and making some upgrades, it is surprising how rare it is for us to think about the interior console and lights in the car. If you want to make your car look more like a spaceship cabin this year you can buy an interior lights kit which will allow you to upgrade your lights and make them more exciting and bright.

8. Seat covers

If you went for the simple option when buying your car and chose the regular black or great seats, you might be missing out on something fun. There’s re actually loads of fun colours and designs you can bring to your car this year and the seats can become a fun feature in your car design. There are so many different seat covers around online and in stores so you can really go crazy and make the car feel like your own little paradise. For an air of luxury white leather is amazing, or for a splash of colour red seats can look amazing. Have some fun choosing your tones.

9. Interior trim wrap

One of the other parts of the car which can often be overlooked when we think about fun upgrades is the interior trim. Have you ever been looking for a car and been put off by the old fashioned wood trim inside? Well, you don’t have to let this ruin your purchase any more because you can easily cover and replace this with something more modern. As an example of a fun interior trim take the Vauxhall Adam, which matches the interior to the exterior colour of the car and this can look stunning when it is on the road. You can choose any colour or pattern to suit you and it will make the inside of your car feel brand new.

10. Racing stripes

There’s nothing more fun to add to your car than a set of racing stripes. Whether you have a brand new sporty BMW or a little mini, some cute little racing stripes can make all the difference to your car this year. Have some fun choosing your racing stripes and the low cost of this upgrade will make it a great choice for a quick revamp.

11. De-chrome

Chrome can look amazing in certain settings and when in the home in the kitchen or the bathroom it will add an instant modern flair to the space. However if you want your car to look a little more expensive this year one of the things you can consider is de-checking the car and replacing it with Matt black. You’ll have matte black handles, trims, wheels and more, and it will instantly make your car look so much more badass than it was before.

12. Car stickers/decals

If you want a quick fix for the weekend which will literally take you a few minutes to do, decals can be a great option. You can add car decals and stickers to the back of the car for a fun nod to your personality. For example if you love Star Wars, you can find a car decal which has all of the characters from the films on it. It can be super fun to play around with and when you search for them online you’ll be surprised at what you can find!

13. Rim protection

Your alloys are a part of the car which often eat overlooked and this can be something which is a bit of a mistake. If you want to make sure that your car is secure and safe you could do with protecting your rims from damage. No one ever aims to hit the curb when driving but it can happen and it can cause a few scrapes. Plus, protection can be colourful so you can have a little fun choosing it!

14. Car mats

You absolutely NEED mats in your car. Mats will make cleaning your interior so much easier because it will collect most of the dirt for you. If you don’t currently have car mats or yours are looking a bit worse for wear, take a look for some new ones and have some fun with the colour and design. Car mats protect the carpet in your car and ensure that it can stay cleaner for longer.

15. A new stereo

One last thing you can do this weekend to make your car feel awesome is to install a new stereo system and bring some surround sound to the car. A surround sound system can make those long road trips so much better and you’ll be able to sing at the top of your lungs for miles on end!
